Dream 2030

On December 18th Qatar celebrates National Day. On this occasion Platige Image was asked to create a 20 minutes long animated film. It looks very good and it's going to be published in few days. I had an opportunity to draw few things for that film.
But in the meanwhile I'm showing some material that we did a year ago. It was a music video called Dream 2030.

At the beginning few matte paintings:

And some character sketches:

Cleaning up the drawer

It's busy time. Jumping between different projects, preparation for Cassandra's Head, changing the office. There's no time for doodling. Fortunately I've found some old stuff that I can share. Not good enough to enclose in official portfolio, but good enough (hopefully) to keep my blog alive. All the images were painted 3-4 years ago except gorilla and robot that are younger.

IGN fail

I've just discovered that there's a little mess around the image Red Hand from "Purge - Sins of Science" that you can see in my previous post.

The image seems so cool that one of the editors has connected it with the new Mass Effect 3 Leviathan DLC.
I want to say that there's no connection between this illustration and the Bioware product and that the editor used the image unauthorised. The illustration was created in September 2009 for Purge project exclusively.

"Purge - Sins of Science" launched on Kickstarter

"Purge - Sins of Science" is a project that I worked on some time ago. I've painted about 180 illustrations from quick sketches to very detailed images.
Matt Johnson the creator of that card game has launched it on the Kickstarter. If you want to support him follow this link

Cassandra's Head - update

As you can see Jacek Spychalski puts a lot of work into this model. The amount of the details is overwhelming, but he never loses the overall vision.
You may have seen some of his work in "Peter and the Wolf" short animation that won an Oscar award in 2008 for best animated short film.

Next update soon.
